Beginning November 15, 2005, United Way of Cass-Clay will implement a new funding process called the Community Investment Process. Any program wishing to partner with United Way of Cass-Clay must submit a letter of intent. Letters of intent will be accepted year round starting November 15, 2005. The letter of intent must:
1) Identify an emerging need or gap in service. Evidence of the need must be presented in the letter.
2) Identify a measurable solution to the emerging need or gap in service.
Letters of intent can't be more than two pages in length with 11 point font.

The Community Investment Committee will give heavier weight to programs that foster collaboration between nonprofits, direct service programs and other entities.
• Invitations to submit a full admissions application will be sent based on letters of intent and the funding cycle.
• The admissions cycle may take 1-2 years.
• Programs invited to submit a letter of intent may be eligible to receive a small amount of seed money prior to completing the one-year admissions cycle. These programs will be reviewed by the Community Investment Committee and UWCC Board of Trustees.
