Is the only way to give to United Way by running a campaign?
No. There are many different ways to give. Your company can hold a one-time special event and have the proceeds go to United Way. There are also many volunteer opportunities. You could get a team together for Day of Caring or help stuff backpacks at School Supply Drive.
