Preschool on Wheels
When parents choose a home childcare setting, it often means they forego preschool. That is, unless the preschool comes to the home. Providers with children ages three to kindergarten can utilize this convenient service.
Preschool on Wheels is portable preschool in which a certified teacher:
- Travels to a provider’s home every other week at a regular time
- Brings a variety of materials including number and letter recognition tools, books, art supplies, cooking activities and large motor equipment
- Consults with providers regarding behaviors, child development and community resources
The program serves to strengthen families and support childcare providers in their "edu-caring" roles with young children.
